Neal D. Fortin is Director of the Institute for Food Laws & Regulations, Assistant Professor in the MSU College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and Adjunct Professor of Law, MSU College of Law. His law practice experience concentrated on food and drug law, food safety, labeling, ingredient evaluation, advertising, legislation, and administrative law. He earned his J.D. from MSU College of Law graduating summa cum laude. Professor Fortin also holds degrees from the University of Michigan and Newman University. He is past President of the North Central Association of Food & Drug Officials (NCAFDO) and past President of the Great Lakes Conference on Food Protection. He has also served as a Commissioner for the Michigan Local Public Health Accreditation Program, the Advisory Council of the Michigan Community Health Leadership Institute, and the NSF Council of Public Health Consultants.
