A. Mahdi Saeed is a Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health with a joint appointment at Large Animal Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Epidemiology in the College of Human Medicine and the National Food Safety and Toxicology Center at Michigan State University. His main areas of research are the causes and prevention of foodborne illnesses. Currently, Dr Saeed is leading research at the National Food Safety & Toxicology Center on the virulence evolution of Salmonella Enteritidis that led to the emergence of this serotype to become one of the most common foodborne pathogens.
