Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine now offers a four-course (12 credit hour) Online Certificate in Food Safety.
These courses provide professionals the knowledge and skills to excel as food safety leaders while concurrently maintaining their professional and personal lives. Lifelong students may take any four (4) of the program's courses (not including VM 810, VM 813 and VM 815) in any sequence to satisfy the requirements for a Certificate from Michigan State University and indicate your successful completion of the Certificate in Food Safety Program.
Participants in the certificate program will apply to Michigan State University as a graduate level Lifelong Student. Course credit can be transferred toward a degree program at MSU or another institution.
Tuition and Transfer Details:
Participants in the certificate program may also apply course credit toward a degree program at MSU or other institution. Currently, MSU will allow transfer of up to 9 credits (with a 3.0 GPA or better) earned through any combination of courses taken through lifelong education, graduate certification, or in transfer from another institution.

$478.25 per credit hour
Nonresidents:
$620.75 per credit hour

After applying, and prior to enrollment, contact Peggy Trommater to inform her of your intent to pursue the Certificate in Food Safety. You will also need to supply the semester and name of the course you wish to take. An override allowing your enrollment will be arranged.
