Master's student Dr. Lisa Becton hired by National Pork Board

The National Pork Board has announced the hiring of Online Master of Science in Food Safety Student Dr. Lisa Becton as Director of Swine Health Information and Research.

Effective April 1st, Dr. Becton will assume the position vacated by Dr. Pam Zaabel who will continue to work with NPB on specific projects.

Since 1996, Becton has been the Health Assurance Manager with Premium Standard Farms in Princeton, Missouri, where she has been responsible for herd health and biosecurity for their sow herd and all their market hogs. She obtained her DVM from North Carolina State University in 1994. Since graduation, Becton participated in the Executive Veterinary Program at the University of Illinois and the Foreign Animal Disease Diagnostician School at the Plum Island Animal Disease Center.
